I do wish I had more time to explore, but unfortunately, my trip was cut short due to an unexpected overnight layover in Atlanta. Regardless of the little hiccup, I still had the best time. I finally got to have my first official “Fish and Chips” in Hampstead at The Holly Bush, which an old friend insisted I should stay away from. LOL. I met so many awesome people, and my taxi drivers were all lovely and super friendly. I have been dying to visit the Sir John Soane Museum, and it was spectacular. It was raining that afternoon, so it added some extra excitement. As always, I walked around a lot, discovering the city and its neighborhoods. I met the coolest bartender at Granary Square Brasserie, where I also spent New Year’s Eve with a new friend I had met that evening, who was very sweet and kind. I love traveling because you never know who you’ll connect with, and that will leave an imprint on your soul to carry for the rest of your life. Stepping into the unknown of whether you’ll see them again or not is a beautiful mystery. I stayed at the Great Northern Hotel, Tribute Portfolio Hotels. This hotel sits between the King’s Cross and St Pancras stations. I thought it would not be very enjoyable to be in the crowd, but it wasn’t at all. It was an exhilarating and self-empowering trip because it was the first international solo trip I had ever taken. I was, of course, a bit apprehensive about traveling alone, but I faced my fear head-on and went for it. I loved the culture, the food, the architecture, and the people there. My itinerary consisted of, well — nothing, which I prefer anyway when I go on trips. I enjoyed walking around, connecting with others, and stopping at places that caught my eye. Sardines are huge in Lisboa! Their sardine shops are like a Louis Vuitton store with red carpet and all. I may have eaten paella almost every night (I stayed away from sardines, LOL), usually partnered with a glass of white wine. I found it easy to get around the city because most people spoke English, and everyone was friendly. I stayed at the Ferraria XVI FLH Hotels, which offered a great location, and their breakfast was excellent! Why Lisboa? I don’t know…I just felt guided to visit the place and I did! It was one of those spontaneous decisions I will never regret acting upon. When you visit places that have a lot of history, you bring back its essence that somehow unlocks something within you. I think that we had two full days to spend there, and we hit a lot of spots within those days. To be honest, that was quite a bit for me, and I was a different person then, but I am super grateful for the experience. Japanese culture is very polite and obedient. I was impressed by how young children freely walked the street unsupervised by parents or adults. Hokkaido, or maybe Japan in general, is clean and well-kept. I don’t think I saw a single piece of trash anywhere. LOL. The food stores were abundant and well-presented to the public eye. My sister took us to a ramen place that was hidden from the world to see, like a dungeon. The kitchen was surrounded by an eating bar table, so we watched them boil and sweat through the steam while preparing our delicious ramen. I was married to him for 13 years before I was enlightened to his identity. Each time they share space with him, they sadly risk exposure to unconscious manipulation and a lack of authentic affection. Although he may show care externally and buy them material things, there is no substance behind his actions due to a blocked heart chakra. I, on the other hand, chose to rise above his past influences and to forgive myself. I took accountability for my actions and healed because I am their only hope for receiving true, unconditional love. I needed to heal so I can heal them and others. LET THEM SHINE Children do not need material things; while those things are nice, what they truly need is to be heard as if they matter, because they do matter in this world. Their inner child needs to be nurtured for as long as possible so that they can remain true to themselves. Let’s not take away that authenticity from them because of our own unconsciousness.
